If you’re concerned about the rising tide of misogyny and the increase in young men turning to old-style dominance-based masculinities, becoming obsessed with exercise and appearance then I just want to remind you that it’s not a new phenomenon. these age-old masculine stereotypes aren’t new and despite moves towards more liberal attitudes and things like metrosexual man from the early 2000s, we have been catapulted back into the dark ages of manhood – back into The Man Box.
