TW: Homicide and Domestic Violence.
I was recently invited to speak to Laura Richards who hosts the award-winning Crime Analyst Podcast.
The First Episode Link is HERE.
The Second Episode Link is HERE.
We spoke about why I work in schools with young men and boys to challenge sexism and misogyny, about the negative influences of influencers, the power of feminist / pro-equality books by Laura Bates and Liz Plank and how vital it is to get more men involved in challenging the sexism and misogyny which is on the rise.
Some of it is difficult to listen to but I hope ultimately it provides an insight into me and what I do the work I do and why it’s so vital we continue to bang the drum for equality and safety for all by challenging old fashioned dominance-based notions of masculinity wherever we see them.
Laura’s work is incredible – find her HERE – she was instrumental in the original plan in 2001 to categorise misogny as a hate crime / terrorist offence – a plan that has finally come to light in the plane laid out by the Home Office under the new Government.
