Thanks for being one of the Friends of IE this year – your support has meant the world to me.
It’s been a year of change – moving on from delivering workshops ourselves and working with partners to deliver the Enterprise Soapbox workshops alongside reducing the scope of our products and expertise so I can focus on the core work I want to do – and has the biggest impact on young people – whilst meeting the evolving needs of the PSHE and RSE curricula.
This year, the What Makes A Man masculinity workshop has been delivered 28 times since its launch in February 2023 to around 8,200 young people.
Here’s some recent feedback about the session: “The messages you deliver can be hard to hear for both students and staff, but you deliver it in a way that gives hope and develops aspiration for change”.
The workshop I deliver around Coercive Control and Domestic Abuse, Sarah’s Legacy has been delivered 32 times to around 11,500 young people in 2023.
In addition, I’ve delivered my Life by The Balls workshop on testicular cancer to around 5,000 young people in 2023 and encouraged young men to ‘have a useful feel’ once a month!
For 2024, I’m writing another book – provisionally titled Where Are The Men? – which will explore the role of men in influencing better behaviours towards one another and specifically in relation to reducing sexism, misogyny and violence of all kinds against women and girls.
For 2024, I’m also going to be working more virtually as well as face to face and looking to deliver more CPD and INSET sessions for teachers as well as resurrecting some of the work we’ve delivered in the past for young people alongside manufacturers on the global stage.
Whatever you do, have a wonderful festive break, have some fun, relax and recharge your batteries ready for another fantastic year in 2024.
With love, happiness and support,
